Computer 2000 unveils TD Cloud plans to UK resellers at first Discovery Day event

Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, revealed the details of its ambitious and ground-breaking TD Cloud programme to reseller partners at a special Cloud Discovery Day event earlier this week.

The company unveiled details of its TD Cloud programme, which will provide an end-to-end cloud enablement path for resellers, to around 60 invited customers. Key vendor partners, HP, Microsoft, Cisco Brocade and Symantec, also outlined their own cloud strategies and explained how they plan to work with Computer 2000 on the TD Cloud programme

The event was exceptionally well-received, said Joel Chimoindes, who is leading the TD Cloud programme for Computer 2000 in the UK. “We got some excellent and enthusiastic feedback. Resellers seem to like our plans, so we are very pleased and looking forward to making contact with  those who attended and getting them enrolled and actively engaged in the TD Cloud programme.”

The TD Cloud programme will provide a comprehensive set of resources that will enable resellers to become enabled as a Cloud Reseller, Cloud Builder, or Cloud Provider.  Computer 2000 will draw on its own dedicated cloud team and its strong strategic relationships with key vendors to provide education, business transformation and enablement, sales and marketing support and deployment resources for TD Cloud partners.

“The concept is one that takes the reseller as well as the customer on a journey”, said Chimoindes. “End-user organisations will adopt cloud computing at different paces and in different ways and it will be just the same for resellers. TD Cloud will provide them with a framework that enable them to embrace and offer the cloud services that are most suited to their business and their customer base. It will enable them to develop at a pace that makes sense for them whilst always keeping their finger on the pulse of a rapidly-changing market landscape.”

Power to I – the power of a connected enterprise or individual

Today I set out the simple objective to get from point A to point B and back whilst meeting with a customer and upgrading some hardware.

Sounds simple and by all accounts it should have been.

So what really happened; well I arrived at the train station to find my train had left early, yes, early.  You literally couldn’t make it up, so out comes the smartphone and two minutes later I’ve found an alternative route and I’m on the way to the customer thankfully still on time.

Foggy Clouds

Ever wanted a completely clear understanding as to what this Cloud business is about? Yes? Me too…

Unfortunately you’re unlikely to find the answer here, fear not this isn’t a self-depreciating view of the Cloud that could perhaps be perceived as threatening to the Distribution and Reseller industry in the I.T Channel, no this is my own view as to what the Fog, sorry Cloud, means to me as an individual.
