Microsoft Datacentre Security & Management Update – October

We’ll start this week with news that Microsoft has launched a new hub for all Private Cloud architectural resources, so if you’re looking for all things Private Cloud this would be the place to start looking.

A couple of upcoming events to tell you about, next week at 16:00 on the 13th of October Microsoft are delivering a webinar on “How Partners Can Make Money Selling Microsoft Private Cloud Solutions” to register click here and on the 19th and 20th of October Microsoft will be presenting “Journey to the Cloud” at this years’ IP EXPO – The UK’s Largest Enterprise IT Event where IP Networks, Virtualization, Cloud, Wireless, Storage and Security work together. For more information check this out.

On a number of occasions whilst delivering training I’ve been asked about providing case studies on the subject to hand. Over time I’ve built up a large number of case studies that I carry round on USB stick. However I recently came across this which means I no longer have to carry them around with me.

We’ll finish this week with System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 and the great news that Microsoft has included Role Based Administrative Controls (RBAC) in this version. This is a godsend if like me you’ve tried to delegate control of the console in SCCM 2007 with mixed results. Over on TechNet blogs a new Configuration Manager 2012 blog series that will be starting this week has been announced.

That’s it for this week, have fun!
