Has education really survived the cuts?
Were you heaving a sigh of relief after the Government spending review was announced?
With widespread speculation that this weeks spending review would have a drastic impact on education and lead to reductions in education spending we like the rest of the industry were waiting in anticipation for the results of the review.

Newsflash, our monthly Newsfile magazine, is now interactive!
There are loads of new features designed to encourage you to get more involved and engaged including embedded video, links to useful information and buy now options at the click of a button. You can also provide feedback on key features, and access further content on our blog and twitter feeds.
The online edition is not only more interactive, it is so much richer and more valuable. Each edition now features a video introduction by TV presenter Kate McIntyre and interviews with experts from Computer 2000 and our vendor partners. There are also quick links, via the regular FlashIT page, to promotional and training videos from key vendors.

The TDAzlan roadshow and IP-Expo
If you want to know more about unified communications then you must attend the TDAzlan roadshow and visit us on Stand 430 at the IP-Expo, Earls Court, London.
The roadshow will visit locations in Guildford, Basingstoke, Glasgow, Warrington and London over the next four weeks. There will be a focus on Avaya products to ensure partners are fully briefed with regard to current market opportunities, as well as how the company’s product and solution portfolio, including the recently announced Avaya Flare Experience, can be utilised to maximise sales and open up new business potential.

The Cloud is almost upon us
The brave new world of Cloud computing is almost upon us. It has been estimated by AMI Research that SMB Cloud spending alone will reach $100 billion by 2014 and other estimates also predict massive growth; IDC estimates the market for public Cloud products and services will be $16 billion this year and will grow to $56 billion by 2014, while Gartner is even more positive and expects the Cloud market to be worth $150 billion by 2013.
It is clear that, whatever the actual rate of growth, Cloud computing will become one of the main areas of IT spending in the next few years.
Cloud computing promises to change the landscape of the software business over the next decade. One of the leaders in this area, as you’d expect, is Microsoft, especially around the development of software as a service (SaaS) models. Indeed, what Microsoft does in this market, could point the way for the entire industry.

Irish Partner Weekend
The next Irish Partner Training Weekend takes place on Saturday 20th November at Carton House, Maynooth, County Kildare (www.cartonhouse.com). Are you attending the HP Energizer event?
