Tech Data appoints Philippe Bosquier to head IT in Europe

Tech Data has appointed Philippe Bosquier, a senior IT professional with extensive experience in the supply chain and distribution sector, as Vice President of IT EMEA.

With immediate effect, Bosquier takes full responsibility for Tech Data’s ERP, e-business, communications, IT operations and application development functions throughout the region. As a key member of the European business management team, he will also join Tech Data’s European Executive Committee.

Bosquier brings more than 20 years of experience in supply chain and distribution to his new role. He has joined Tech Data from DHL, where he most recently held the post of chief information officer for the western and eastern European regions and where he has held a number of executive IT positions since 2006. He was previously with Exel, which was acquired by DHL at the end of 2005 and integrated into the DHL Logistics division.  Prior to this, Bosquier spent ten years in senior IT roles within the transportation and logistics division of Peugeot Citroën. 

Bosquier will bring a special blend of IT leadership experience, business focus, distributed resource management skill, and specific supply chain knowledge to Tech Data.  These qualities will enable him to play an active role in supporting the exciting growth and diversification strategy Tech Data are pursuing in Europe and to ensure that IT is fully integrated and completely aligned with our plans and continues to have an important and influential role in the development and execution of their strategies.

His previous supply chain experience will set him in good stead to address many of the challenges he will face today and will encounter in the future. His priority is to enhance a proactive, business focused and service orientated culture to become the partner of choice for both our internal and external customers.

Bosquier holds engineering and information systems degrees and a masters degree and will be based at Tech Data’s offices in France.
