Computer 2000 invests more in partner development with new wave of Microsoft Licensing Boot Camps
Computer 2000 is to run another series of its successful and popular Microsoft Boot Camps during September, October and November, giving more resellers the opportunity to go through the training and exams needed to achieve Microsoft Licensing Sales Specialist Lite (MLSS Lite) qualification.
The Six MLSS Lite courses take place over a single day, over the course of the next ten weeks, at locations across the UK. In addition to gaining the Microsoft qualification, these courses also pave the way for resellers to advance onto the full Microsoft Licensing Sales Specialist (MLSS) qualification.

Tech Data appoints Philippe Bosquier to head IT in Europe
Tech Data has appointed Philippe Bosquier, a senior IT professional with extensive experience in the supply chain and distribution sector, as Vice President of IT EMEA.
With immediate effect, Bosquier takes full responsibility for Tech Data’s ERP, e-business, communications, IT operations and application development functions throughout the region. As a key member of the European business management team, he will also join Tech Data’s European Executive Committee.

Brightstar Europe finalises acquisition of AKL Telecommunications GmbH
Completion of agreement extends Brightstar Europe’s presence to Austria as part of continuing pan-European growth strategy.
Brightstar Europe, a joint venture between Brightstar Corp. and Tech Data Corporation has announced the completion of its acquisition of AKL Telecommunications GmbH. The news follows hard on the heels of the company’s announcement earlier this month that it had entered into an agreement to acquire Benelux mobility specialist, Mobile Communication Company (MCC) subject to approval of the EU regulatory authorities. It is a further illustration of Brightstar Europe’s growth strategy to acquire businesses in areas of the continent where it can strengthen its geographic presence, vendor portfolio and customer reach.

Tech Data Corporation Reports Fiscal 2011 Second-Quarter Results
The Tech Data Corporation, for with TD Computer 2000 is a subsidiary, yesterday announced results for the second quarter ended July 31, 2010.
Net income grew 16 percent to a second-quarter record of $41 million; Over 4 million shares repurchased during the quarter Net sales for the second quarter ended July 31, 2010, were $5.47 billion, an increase of 5.6 percent from $5.18 billion in the prior-year second quarter.

Brightstar Europe to establish strong presence in The Netherlands and Belgium through agreement to acquire Mobile Communication Company
Brightstar Europe, a joint venture between Brightstar Corp. and Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ GS: TECD) today announced an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Mobile Communication Company (MCC) in the Netherlands and Belgium. The acquisition is subject to approval of the EU regulatory authorities and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2010. The proposed transaction with MCC, currently part of Triade Group in The Netherlands, forms part of a separate intended acquisition by Tech Data Corporation of Triade Group, which includes several Triade subsidiaries in the Information Technology (IT) and Consumer Electronics distribution markets.
